Techno POVA 7 Pro Launch: Price, Specs, Features & First Look

Hey brothers and sisters, finally the time has come when Tecno has made a very strong claim in its new line named “Pova 7 Pro 5G”. Yes, this phone is being sold openly on Flipkart from 10 July 2025, and it is heard that people are not tired of praising it. So today we will talk in clear and simple Desi language – what is the price, how is this phone, who should buy it, who should not, and why? Let’s start the story directly without any beating around the bush.

How much will the difference be?

Tecno has kept the offer very simple this time. There are two variants:

• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage = ₹16,999

• 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage = ₹17,999

These rates are “introductory”, i.e. in the launch offer, if you buy using ICICI or SBI credit/debit card, you can get an instant discount of ₹1,000. There is also a six-month no-cost EMI, i.e. ₹2,833 per month interest-free EMI plan.

Colours? Three—

  1. Dynamic Gray (a very sober office type)
  2. Neon Cyan (a little vibrant, glows at night)
  3. Geek Black (absolutely for gamers)

First look: What does it look like?

The moment you pick up the phone, its “weight” is felt in your hand—195 grams, not too heavy, but not light either. Its thickness is 8.15 mm, so it can fit into even a thin pocket. The back panel has a “Delta Light Interface” with 104 mini LEDs.

What is the use of this?

• Shows battery level while charging.

• When music plays, the lights swing with the beat.

• If a call or message comes, a different pattern is formed.

Seeing this reminds me of the same old Desi dialogue – “What does it matter if you look good”… but here it does! The rating is not IP54, but IP64 – protection from dust and light drops of rain. It is not a task that requires you to immerse yourself in a bucket, but you don’t have to worry about splashes.

Screen

There is a 6.78 inch AMOLED panel, 1.5K i.e. 1224 × 2720 pixels. 144 Hz refresh rate – this means everything will slide like butter while scrolling. 240 Hz touch sampling rate for gamers – in PUBG, if your finger speaks, the phone will also speak immediately.

The brightness goes up to 4500 nits—even those who wear glasses will have no problem chatting on WhatsApp while sitting in the sun. 2160 Hz PWM dimming will make the eyes less tired at night.

how much is the power

At the heart is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate processor, built on a 4 nm process. Cortex-A78 (2.5 GHz) + Cortex-A55 (2.0 GHz). Graphics handles Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

For everyday use:

• WhatsApp, Instagram, Flipkart, YouTube—open simultaneously, still no tap.

• Gaming: BGMI gives stable around 40 fps on HDR + Extreme. There is 11-layer hyper cooling, the back does not go above 42 °C after 1 hour of continuous play.

RAM is 8 GB LPDDR5, but adding 8 GB more via “memory fusion” will make it look like 16 GB—although it is virtual, but it is useful to keep many apps in the background. Storage is UFS 2.2, 128 or 256 GB, and there is no micro-SD slot—remember that.

Camera

There are two large circular domes at the rear:

• 64 MP Sony IMX682 primary (f/1.7)

• 8 MP ultra-wide (f/2.2)

Selfie 13 MP f/2.2 in punch-hole.

In daylight, the photos are detailed, the colours are a little saturated—the likes will increase once you post them on Instagram. At night, the “Super Night Mode” makes the IMX682’s big sensor useful, but the ultra-wide one is a little noisy in low light.

Video 4K @ 30 fps both ways. Dual-Video feature records front and back simultaneously—great for vloggers.

Battery

6000 mAh battery—It will last as long as “Grandma’s story”. In normal usage (Whatsapp, YouTube, calls, some games) it will last for 1.5 to 2 days.

The charger is 45W in-box:

• 0-50 % = 33 minutes

• 0-100 % = 69 minutes

Wireless charging is supported up to 30W—a surprise to find at this price. There’s also reverse wireless, so you can charge your friend’s earbuds or phone for a little while.

software

  1. HiOS 15, which is built on Android 15. Interface is colorful, a bit bulky. There are 10-12 pre-installed apps, out of which you can uninstall 3-4.
  2. Ella AI assistant understands many languages including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati. Say “Ella, WhatsApp your mother” and the work is done.
  3. Software updates? Sadly—only 1 major Android update (Android 16) and 2 years of security patches. Not 3-4 years like Moto or Samsung.

Small benefits

• NFC: Works with Google Pay, no need to look for metro tokens.

• IR Blaster: Becomes a remote for AC-TV.

• In-display fingerprint – fast, but a little low; if you have a big hand the finger slips.

• Dual speakers with Dolby Atmos—Netflix will play just fine without earphones.

Who should take it

• Student: 256 GB for ₹17k, 2 days battery, gaming—easy to convince dad.

• Content creators: 4K video, dual-video mode, AMOLED—an excuse to start vlogging.

• Users with a phone-first: Straight forward 5G, NFC, IR blaster—all in one bag.

Who should not take it

• Those who need updates for 3-4 years.

• Those who require a micro-SD slot.

• Those who want OIS in the camera—there is EIS, but no OIS.
